Technical Sales Executive

Giatec Scientific Inc. (Giatec) is looking for a driven and passionate Technical Sales Executive to join our Global Business Development team. In this role, you are the technical expert who best understands and articulates Giatec’s Ready-Mix product to Giatec’s customers. You will also lead the sales and onboarding efforts of Giatec’s Ready-Mix product including demonstration of the product, onboarding and providing product consultation to new and existing customers.
Reporting to the AVP, Business Development, the ideal candidate will have experience in the construction, civil engineering, or concrete industries and will be a strong communicator and relationship builder.
We are open to remote candidates with a preference of a hybrid candidate who will work both remotely and in person at the Ottawa, ON office.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:
Sales & Business Development:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities/prospects within the construction industry, including contractors, engineers, architects, and developers, primarily within North America (NAM), while also vetting prospects worldwide.
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers to increase sales and expand market share.
- Act as a key representative for Giatec at various trade shows and industry events and play key role in prospecting pre/post show.
- Provide technical presentations and demonstrations of Giatec’s Ready-Mix products and services to prospective customers, creating best practices as the product evolves.
- Support negotiation discussions in collaboration with AVP of Business Development
- Use CRM tools to update and track the status of leads and opportunities.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.
Product Knowledge & Technical Expertise:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Giatec’s Ready-Mix products, as well as industry standards, trends, and competitor offerings.
- Assist clients with understanding product specifications, mix designs, and best practices.
- Collaborate with the product and technical teams to align capabilities with customer requirements.
- Collect customer feedback and create technical documentation to inform market positioning and product development decisions.
- Provide high-level support in proposal development, including technical input, customer needs identification, and proposal customization.
Market Research & Reporting:
- Be up to date with industry/ market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to help refine sales positioning and target segmentation.
- Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, and market intelligence to management.
WHAT DO YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in sales, technical sales, or a related role within the construction or Ready-Mix concrete industry.
- Minimum 2 years of proven experience in customer facing role.
- Proven track record of achieving sales quota for a minimum of 1 year.
- Possess industry experience in construction. If not construction, materials preferred (not limited to Concrete but could include asphalt, cement, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or an equivalent experience working within the construction industry.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous.
- Self-motivated with a track record of achieving sales targets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software (Salesforce).
- Proven working knowledge and solid understanding on the concrete industry.
- Able to travel within North America (i.e. USA/Canada) up to 25% of the time.
NICE-TO-HAVE:
- Relevant industry certifications or training in concrete technology, mix design, or construction management would be a plus.
- Has proficiency in other languages.
- Possess experience working in various cultures.
