IT Administrator (Ottawa, ON)

As our IT Administrator, reporting to the Director of Technology Services, you'll help shape and deliver the enablement of technologies used across Multiview.

The IT Administrator is a vital position that bridges the gap between the Technology Services team and internal clients. The main goal of this role is to align and expand the cyber security and compliance posture across the organization built around creating consistent and clear operating procedures based on industry standards and regulations

The role requires integrity and a passion for evolving the use of technology solutions supporting team members and using technology to facilitate a better end-user experience for business users. This role is a core member of the Technology Services team and should be comfortable being hands-on in the actioning of activities and collaborating with operations and infrastructure team members while ensuring appropriate technologies.

The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter, someone who has strong analytical and problem-solving skills, an understanding of risk and compliance management principles, a strong background in Information Technology, an excellent communication and report-writing abilities, and foundational knowledge of industry-specific regulations, standards, and frameworks, and is passionate about security and compliance and believe in due diligence with a strong background in IT and IT administration.

IT administrator is an excellent communicator, with a great attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and comfortable meeting with all stakeholders to provide training on applications. This role requires a combination of interpersonal and technical skills, that provide energy and enthusiasm for solving technical problems for our employees.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Plans and performs overall information systems improvements, implementation, and administration in a variety of IT functional areas.
  • Collaborates with end users to diagnose and resolve technical issues across different systems and technologies, including hardware, software, networks, and services.
  • Analyzes business needs and contributes to the selection of hardware, software and services to support internal business processes.
  • Maintains detailed documentation of methodologies, processes, and specifications of Multiview's IT systems and assists with the planning and scheduling of IT initiatives.
  • Installs and configures network and carrier infrastructure including LANs, WANs, wireless networks and cellular communications and monitors network performance.
  • Implements basic security measures to protect systems, networks, and data and ensures backup strategies and recovery plans are up to date.

  • Problem-solving – Proactive in anticipating and resolving problems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to meet the requirements of the project are required. Motivated to find the best solution to the technical problems that might arise
  • Time management – Ability to handle multiple schedules simultaneously to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks to ensure smooth a prospective experience
  • Initiative – Seek, own and complete tasks using own initiative; work independently with little supervision; have a strong bias to action

YOU ARE SOMEONE WHO HAS:

  • Bachelor’s degree/ diploma in a related field OR equivalent experience
  • Experience level: 4-7 years actively participating in IT services delivery
  • Thorough knowledge of an eagerness to continue to grow their knowledge base in the areas of:
    • Microsoft Azure, Security, Sentinel
    • Atlassian Jira, Confluence, Guard
    • Windows/Mac/Linux workstation administration
    • IAM Administration
    • API and Web integrations and technologies.
  • Professional certifications (or actively working towards) in Information Technology such as MCSE, MCSD, CISSP (preferred)
  • Ability to multi-task, probe, analyze and problem-solve with keen attention to detail
  • Interested in learning and taking on increasingly complex tasks
  • Strong organization, planning, prioritization, ability to organize, schedule, and facilitate effective training and technical support
  • Willingness to be coached, mentored, and driven to reach your fullest potential
  • Experience demonstrating Multiview’s core values, building and advancing the reputation of the company and its clients
